DRAFT – not legal advice. This text must be reviewed before launch. What the "Verified student" badge means A "Verified student" badge means an administrator reviewed evidence that the person is enrolled at a college. A college email address alone is not enough. It is not an identity, background or Garda vetting check, and it does not mean the student is insured or qualified for a particular task. The badge can be removed if the evidence is no longer valid. Before you hire or accept a job Read the profile, the reviews and the job description. Ask questions in the messages before you agree. Customers should describe anything that affects safety, such as heavy lifting, ladders, animals or working alone with someone. Students should turn down any job they are not comfortable or qualified to do. Jobs that need extra care Jobs that involve children or vulnerable adults, such as tutoring or minding, may legally require Garda vetting, which StudentTask does not carry out. Do not use StudentTask for jobs that need a licence, a trade qualification or specialist equipment, such as electrical, gas or roofing work. On the day Students: tell a friend where you are going and when you expect to finish. Customers: make sure the work area is safe and the student can leave at any time. Either of you can stop a job if you feel unsafe, and report it afterwards. Keep it on StudentTask Keep conversations and payments on StudentTask. Messages in the app are the record support uses if something goes wrong, and payments made elsewhere are not covered by the dispute process. Never share passwords or bank codes, and report anyone who asks you to pay or be paid outside the app. Reporting Report anything that worries you from the job page, the person's profile or the Support page. Support can read the messages in a conversation when looking into a report. Accounts can be suspended while a report is reviewed. In an emergency, call 112 or 999. Insurance StudentTask does not insure jobs. Customers should check whether their home insurance covers work done in their home, and students are responsible for their own conduct.
